WHAT ARE STEM CELLS?
Stem cells are undifferentiated cells in our bodies that have the capacity to become any healthy cell: stem cells can become skin or bone cells, heart tissue, or even muscle cells. Unlike skin cells, which are somatic, stem cells replicate for longer periods of time. Stem cells are located throughout our body in almost every organ and tissue such as bone marrow, fat, teeth, muscles, etc. However, stem cells are not ageless and will age as we age.
WHAT ARE THE CAPABILITIES OF STEM CELLS?
Since stem cells can become any other type of cell, once deployed to an injury or degenerative area, stem cells can readily change into the cell that needs to be replaced. Additionally, stem cells home to sites of injury by cell signals that recruit them to sites of injuries. Once the cells reach their intended site, they dock and commence repairing the injury or disease by releasing cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors that aid in host endogenous repair.

Liveyon’s FDA approved regenerative medicine product is derived from Umbilical Cord Tissue Donations. Our product contains mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and is rich in growth factors from umbilical cord tissue.
Studies have demonstrated that umbilical cord stem cells offer a variety of benefits, since these cells are young and healthy enough to offset the aging stem cells already present in our bodies. Umbilical cord MSCs have been found to reduce the anti-inflammatory response in injury sites, produce specialized carbohydrates that assist in shock absorption in joints, and provide extra collagen and other proteins to strengthen body tissues. HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
- Participating hospitals invite mothers, who have been screened and are expecting healthy and normal births, to donate their umbilical cord tissue.
- Once consent has been obtained, a specialized and trained nurse will be allowed into the delivery room to complete the necessary extraction procedures.
- All the tissues obtained are screened and delivered to Liveyon’s lab, which follows cGMP and GTP procedures. Our product is made from these tissues, which are an excellent source of growth factors and stem cells. This procedure is FDA approved.
